Short Term Missions

Hillsboro encourages everyone to live to share the good news with others. Short term mission trips are one way to share the good news and offer support to the local and global missions partners who serve their communities every day. Hillsboro coordinates several short term missions trips throughout the year across the ocean, across the nation, and across the street.

Check back frequently for trip updates and contact us if you’d like more information.

412Missions, Hillsboro’s university missions team, partners with the church at Mateo, Honduras, each Spring Break to minister to the community, build houses for its residents, and support Leopoldo and Griselda Villacorta, Hillsboro’s global missions partners in Mateo. The 412Missions team is comprised of local university students and others who have had a long-time passion for the people of Mateo. Planning for Spring Break 2023 is already underway!

Every June, the Hillsboro Youth Group joins hundreds of students from across Nashville to serve the city’s communities. Groups paint, do small house repairs, complete yard work, and minister to elderly and fixed-income families. Nashville Workcamp is open to all 6th – 12th graders.

Every other year, the high school students in the Hillsboro Youth Group travel to Honduras during the summer to partner with the church at Mateo. The HYG Team ministers to the community, builds houses for residents of Mateo, and offers support to the Villacorta Family, Hillsboro’s global missions partners who work full-time in Mateo.

During the summer, a missions team travels to Campamento Bellevue in Tabacundo, Ecuador, to minister to the community, organize a Vacation Bible School, offer a medical clinic, and support the Campbell Family and the Racinces Family, Hillsboro’s global missions partners in Ecuador. Anyone is welcome to join the Ecuador Team, including families with children of all ages.

Regularly throughout the year, small teams travel to Haiti to work on special projects and provide support for the students, parents, and teachers of the Grace Divine School in the village of Cadouche. Teams often transport school supplies as well as notes and pictures between the students and their US sponsors.

Several times a year, small teams coordinate with both of Hillsboro’s global missions partners in the Ukraine – the church in Ivano-Frankivsk and Vitaly & Lera Samodin in Kiev. Teams minister to the community, work on special projects, and support the missions partners who minister regularly in Ukraine.
