Marriage Mentoring

Getting married? Thinking about it?

In Hillsboro’s Marriage Mentoring program, mentor couples share the joys, burdens, and realities of a life-long spousal commitment with soon-to-be-married couples. Six, two-hour sessions that are arranged to meet at a location and time that works for both the mentor couple and the engaged couple.

Couples will discover the building blocks of marriage, through the Prepare/Enrich inventory. This is one of the most widely used tools for premarital counseling and education. It is a customized relationship assessment that identifies a couple’s strength and growth areas, allowing them to focus on the areas that are crucial for growth within their unique relationship. After taking the assessment, a trained mentor couple will meet with the engaged couple via feedback sessions to discuss their results and work through skill-building exercises.
