- G. W. Head’s granddaughter, Amanda Gambill, has improved and has been released from the hospital.
- HYG Camp 2008 applications are due by Wednesday, May 28. There will be a $25 late fee for all applications received after the deadline.
Updates:
- We welcome Simon Paul to Hillsboro! Simon comes to us from Haiti where his wife, Muracia Jean, currently resides. She hopes to join Simon in Nashville in the near future.
- Edna Lauderdale has returned to her home from Lakeshore-Wedgewood.
- Ann Price’s brother-in-law, Jim Bob James, is in Centennial ICU recovering from open heart surgery.
- Alice Conger’s father, Earl Bewley, is in serious condition as the result of a stroke.
- Jean Dennison is at home recovering from bronchitis.
- Paul Hargis is in St. Thomas, room #795.
- We extend our sympathy to Barry and Becky Thompson in the loss of Barry’s father, Francis Thompson, on Monday. Services were held in Ohio. Becky works at Rains Avenue Christian Care Center.
- We extend our sympathy to the family of Reba Gallaher who passed away Monday morning. Graveside services were held Wednesday at Woodlawn. Cards can be sent to Mr. and Mrs. John Wilburn, 2609 Mesa Drive, Nashville, 37217.
Upcoming Events:
- Fasting for Haiti: It takes $10 to feed 25 Haitians for one day. Pick up your “Fasting for Haiti” envelope located at entrances throughout the building.
- Young at Heart will meet Monday, May 12, at 6:00 pm. Rita Cochrane will be the guest speaker and her topic is Saudi Arabia by Invitation Only, Jesus need not Apply.
- Hillsboro Christian Camp 2008: There will be an informational meeting for those interested in volunteering on Sunday, May 11 at 5:00 pm in the chapel.
- Honduras Mission Trip Informational Meeting: If you are interested in learning more about a short-term mission trip to Honduras in late summer, please attend a meeting on Sunday, May18, 5:15 pm in room 104. If you cannot attend the meeting but would like more information about possible upcoming trips, please see John Mason or Stan Lowery for details.
- Business Professionals’ Luncheon: Make plans now to attend on Thursday, May 22. Sarah-Jane Bedwell’s topic will be Truth or Consequences: Health and Nutrition. More details to come
