The past 10 years have been an exciting time for the Bristol church as well as for Pauline and myself personally. Since starting in 1862 the church usually hovered around 24 members but the Lord has blessed the work and we are now having about 72 attend services on Sunday with a membership of 64, small by American standards but quite presentable by British, many churches of any group number 30 or less and that is particularly so of Churches of Christ
Lately our work has taken on a wider aspect as we have been invited to assist in Malawi and try to set up work in Turkey. In fact we have a list of countries asking us to visit and to teach and encourage the brethren. With each passing year I am feeling that I would like to take on more general evangelistic work, teaching in our Preacher Training Schools and evangelistic work. This would by its nature mean that I start to withdraw from the day to day life of the church here. Something that needs guidance and direction.
Statistics tell me that over the period Sept 1 04/05 we received 4 into fellowship and baptized 3; 7 moved to other countries and 2 died. The average offering was UKĀ£ 745.
Many thanks to the Hillsboro church for the good works they are involved in and a big THANK YOU for your help here in England.
