HYG Summer Missions
Honduras 2010
Honduras is an opportunity unlike any other, which gives high school students an opportunity to travel outside the comfort of the United States and change a life of someone in need. Becoming a servant of God requires commitment and a desire to puts others before yourself.
This summer the mission efforts of the Hillsboro Youth Group plan to travel to Tegucigalpa, Honduras for 7 days to reach out to a variety of challenges and needs. We have a total of 20 team members for this year’s efforts. Please keep us as well as the people we minister to on the mission in your prayers as we answer the call to be servants for Christ.

Fundraising
We try to keep the cost as low as possible, and remember that 100% of the money raised goes toward the mission trip. This year we are setting a goal for each participating student to commit to giving $100 of their own money toward the cost of the trip. Realizing that this amount is a large goal to set for any teenager, we believe through prayer and equal sacrifice, it can be accomplished.
We plan to offer various team fund raising events from now until July. We also realize that raising money is a major part of any mission trip which is why we encourage every participant to help in the efforts toward raising the money. The most common way is by writing letters to family and friends in the quest to acquire donations for the mission work. Keep in mind that this mission is our opportunity to further God’s kingdom around the world.
