Young at Heart Meeting
Our March 10th Young at Heart meeting was a huge success. Almost 100 of us showed up to hear the inspiring story of Jonathan Shaub’s survival and recovery from a horrible accident with a semi-trailer truck in New York. He, thankfully, does not remember the accident but it is obvious from his injuries that he was run over and dragged by the truck. His injuries were so bad that, at first, thousands of us just prayed for his survival. Then, as he slowly improved, we prayed for a recovery that would allow him to walk. He is now playing golf and can also run but with pain. He is getting married in April to a very beautiful young lady named Rachel Stinson.
We called his talk “A Million Prayers Answered”. Only God knows how many prayers have been prayed on Jonathan’s behalf but we believe a million is a good guess. Jonathan is a remarkable young man. He has had eight surgeries and believes there will be no need for others.
We thank God not only for his life, his patience, but more importantly we are thankful for the deep strength of his faith in God that continues to sustain him. We believe that with the Lord’s help and Jonathan’s faith there is nothing he cannot accomplish.
All of us were inspired and comforted by his story and the obvious power of prayer.
