D6 Family: Reconnecting Parents with Kids
D6 stands for Deuteronomy 6:5-7 which commands dads and moms to take everyday opportunities to impress God’s Word upon the hearts of their children. D6 is foundational to raising spiritual champions for Christ.
We must be active in passing our faith along to our kids. It’s clear from D6 that, while church is a vital part of this development, it cannot stop there. It must continue in the home.
Over the summer, you will begin to notice logos and slogans declaring “1/168 is not enough.” This refers to the one hour out of the 168 hours in the week that the average parent engages their children in meaningful conversation, which is not enough to teach your children about God.
John and Jennifer Robinson will be leading this ministry and are planning a class for the fall which will be available to Hillsboro parents and guests. This ministry effort will support and equip parents as they seek to rear their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Please be praying for this generation of parents as they face a tougher job than any generation before them. If you have any question, or would like to learn more about this ministry, please contact John Robinson or the church office.
