Community Marriage Event | March 9, 7:00 P.M.
Hillsboro Church of Christ will host a Community Marriage Event, on March 9 at 7:00 p.m., featuring Dr. John Van Epp. Titled “It Takes a Village, How to Strengthen Marriage in the Community”, Dr. Van Epp will be leading not a marriage seminar, but a call for communities, churches and individuals to come together to value and spread a positive message about the importance of marriage.
Marriage is in trouble, and our children, families and communities feel the impact. Dr. John Van Epp, noted author and researcher on marriage, family, recovery, single hood, relationships and divorce, has an interesting approach to this problem. His popular curriculum, PICK (Premarital Interpersonal Choices & Knowledge) a Partner, is taught in ten countries and over 45 states in hundreds of churches, single organizations, educational settings and agencies. The author of the popular How To Avoid Marrying a Jerk focuses on making good choices, as well as maintaining closeness and intimacy in marriage. His material is taught internationally by over 5,000 instructors in a variety of settings.
Dr. Van Epp has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, Psychology Today, O Magazine, and Cosmopolitan; he has also appeared on the CBS Early Show, The O’Reilly Factor, Fox News and Focus on the Family.
