Community Outreach

The Hillsboro local outreach focuses on reaching out to our Nashville neighbors through sharing the gracious love that we all undeservingly receive from God. In addition to planned and organized events, our challenge is to selflessly serve others just as Christ made himself a servant on earth. If you are called to serve and want to be involved with any of the opportunities listed below, please visit Hillsboro at your earliest convenience and speak with our elders or staff and they would be more than willing to help you find a place to belong!

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."  I Peter 4:10

NASHVILLE WORKCAMP @ Woodmont Hills

Nashville Workcamp is designed to offer teenage students an intense week to serve the community and/or fixed income families in and around Nashville. It is a full week comprised of opportunities to paint the exterior of houses, perform minor repairs, and complete some yard work. This event is a great way for students to work together with their appointed crew leader and form lasting connections with students from area-wide youth groups. Most importantly, it is week to be a servant to our Nashville neighbors with a paint brush and genuine love from God.

INNER CITY MINISTRY @ Hillsboro's Youth Center

The Inner City Ministry is an collaborative effort focused on reaching out to the thousands of Inner City Children in Nashville, providing them with love, support and Biblical teaching. Hillsboro hosts approximately 30 children on Monday evenings (throughout the school year) and offers dinner, a Bible story and creative crafts during the 45 minute timeframe. For many of these students, this could be the only nurturing moment they receive all week long.

ROOM IN THE INN @ Hillsboro's Youth Center

Room in the Inn is 24-year-old city-wide effort to meet the increasing need for housing the homeless during the winter months. Each Saturday night in December - February, Hillsboro hosts 12 men with a place to sleep, a hot dinner, continental breakfast, sack lunch and a chance to relax with other men who care for them. Members of Hillsboro cook meals, drive buses, wash bed linens, and spend the night with these men as we seek to help get them back on their feet. Volunteers are always needed for the 13 week program which begins in December. If you would like to learn more please contact the church office at 615-665-0014.
