Capital Campaign
Accomplishing God’s great vision of being fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ will require physical resources as well as spiritual resources. We believe that adding to Hillsboro’s current facilities will allow ministry to expand and God’s kingdom to grow.
Hillsboro is, and always has been, a very generous congregation, and has risen to meet challenging financial goals in the past. Some thirty-five years ago, this congregation embarked on a Vision of Faith to build our current facilities. In today’s terms they were giving $2,000 dollars less per week and the bulding cost was well over $9 million dollars (adjusted figures).
Our objective for this Vision of Faith campaign is Equal Sacrifice, Not Equal Giving. We anticipate the final costs of our expansion to be around 7.5 million dollars for all phases currently being considered.
A special Million Dollar Day was held on Sunday, December 30, 2007. Our faith goal was to raise $600,000 over and above our regular contribution. We raised over $602,000. This money, added to previous gifts in the amount of $400,000, served as a starting point to begin construction on our new addition. Million Dollar Day is being followed by a Three-Year Pledge Campaign which began on Sunday, June 8, 2008, to raise the balance needed for construction and renovation.
We are currently engaged in the site and building plan permitting process and are working closely with the City of Forest Hills, our architect and contractor to finalize our building construction plan. We have been blessed with pledges and capital contributions throughout this process and continue to apply them to our growing building fund.
Please be praying for this effort and for how you and your family can participate in our Vision of Faith Campaign. May God bless us as we honor Him in all that we do.
