Living It Dare #2

How did you do on this past week’s DARE? Did you get all your notes completed and sent out? Was there any feedback from those who received a note from you? Were they appreciative? Did it brighten their day? Did you get your children involved in the process?
Listed below are some of our members who are not able to attend worship anymore. Due to illness or age, they are limited in their ability to get around, and sometimes that leads to loneliness and sadness. Many of them would love a visit or a phone call. So, Living It DARE #2 is simple, but yet challenging: Make one visit to a shut-in this week or call three of the individuals who are listed on the green “Encouragement List” that is located at entrances throughout the building.
This past Monday, Randall and I had the privilege of visiting some of our members who live in the Bellevue area. What a wonderful time we had! I don’t know who was more uplifted by the end of our visits – but I can tell you that we had a lot of fun.
Don’t miss the opportunity to be an encouragement to our shut-ins. They would love to hear from you. Stretch yourself and make some phone calls, or extend that comfort level by making a visit. You will be so glad you did.
We plan to make more visits in the coming weeks—they are truly worthwhile.
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me‘” (Matthew 25:34-36).
